50 days old

Today Nono is 50 days old. Today i took care of him by myself for the first time and I think I did good, I can do things in my own ways, which makes things easier... I'm starting to get to know him a bit more, what he wants and needs, likes and dislikes. And I guess he's getting to know me better as well. It's good to be feeling a bit more confident, even though I know it's just one day. I took a picture right after he ate, and of course he looks so satisfied.

Tiny toes

Some people mentioned to me that you'll forget that your baby was so small and tiny. To go against that, yesterday I was looking at Nolan and admire his features... of course, admire and stare not just look after all I'm his mommy.

I want to remember how his hands are tiny, his thighs so chubby, his double chin, the dimple he has on his left cheek, the upside down smile when he's upset : ( it's really the cutest thing in the world and the things he does, like shake his head trying to get out of the swaddling. How about smiling while he's sleeping, he gives the cutest smiles when he's dreaming... and I wonder what they dream about, gallons of milk? : ) I guess I want to believe that God is talking to them telling how much he loves them.

He's been much more active, more watchful, he can recognize us and smile. One day, Lawton just came back from work and Nolan heard and saw him, he gave the biggest smile ever. It was so amazing to see the love of the son to the father.

Baby on board!

What a week! Our little one finally arrived, he wanted to surprise us and came earlier than we expected... Born in August 5th 2008, weight 9 lbs 5 oz, 21 in., Nolan Benjamin Chiu came to our world. Words can't describe the experience of hearing your baby's cry for the first time. We went through 16 hours of labor, ended up in a C-section due to complications but every single minute was worth it. Lawton was so good to me, using one of his best abilities to serve people. I was very proud of him, I was happy to share this moment with him.
I immediately fell in love with this little guy, he's adorable and cute... and foremost, he's a gift from God. Now I understand the unconditional love of the Father.

Almost there!

This is the first time I'm trying this and being encouraged by my hubbie, i decided to start and see how it goes.
I'm going to my 38th week of pregnancy and though it had some challenges, I enjoyed being pregnant and having a little one inside me. Having this kind of connection is unique and special, something God created so perfect, it's like a gift for me.
